Yesterday at the suburban hotel “Verholy Relax Park” the Poltava Tourism Forum was held. The event was organized by the Dnipro Chamber of Commerce and Industry by the EBRD support: Small Business Consultations in Ukraine under the # EU4Business Initiative of the European Union. The Forum was attended by representatives of the authorities, commercial and public organizations of Poltava region and several other regions of Ukraine.
Among the invited speakers were Chef and host of the Ukrainian reality TV show “The Dish of Honor” Yuriy Kovryzhenko, initiator of the “Tourist Clusters 300+” project Yulia Alekseeva, author of the “Interesting Kyiv” project Arseniy Finberg and many other top experts.
West Cherkaschyna Tourcluster President, EBRD Tourism Expert Alex Fainin was also invited by the organizers to be the speaker and moderator of the Panel Discussion “How to make your guest happy?” In his report “Trends in Transformation of Demand and Development of the Tourist Industry Service”, Alex Fainin spoke about the trends of world and Ukrainian tourism, as well as the creation and activity of the West Cherkaschyna Tourcluster. According to Mr. Fainin, the main obstacles to the development of the tourism industry in Ukraine are the lack of power at all levels, the absence of modern legislation, standards and statistics, as well as huge interest rates for SMB. Also, EBRD expert said that it is the cluster form of tourism development, which is the closest to the European model of sustainable development of regions, will be the key to increasing both domestic and inbound tourist flows in Ukraine.
